‘Terminally Climactic Forms’ is the third release from Jackie Denardo, bearing little resemblance to the stark minimalism of its predecessor, released just 6 months earlier (though there is a new song here which was reworked from lp no.2).

As with debut album ‘Continuums’, the songs on the album see Jackie Denardo bearing the influence of disparate musical styles to create a sonic palette that though familiar, contains deviations that betray the original vision of the project as ‘ambient music’.

With a greater emphasis on rhythm on this new album, there are songs that could conceivably end up on the dancefloor. Or more likely, a dystopian sci-fi movie.

The album title is lifted from scholar Brad Adams’ terminology for songs in which the high point appears at the end of the song, rather than in a chorus. Which is to say that that the songs on this album do not conform to conventional verse-chorus song structures.

It’s the most fully realised selection of songs released under the Jackie Denardo moniker to date. And it clocks in at a tidy 42 mins.

Originally conceived as a double LP, a companion release will follow in the first half of 2022.
